"Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life, because you become what you believe."
                                                                                                           - Oprah Winfrey

There is always a lot of talk about vision boards around this time of the year. Several people host vision board events. Some people love them, and some people think it is a waste of time. However, vision boarding is the perfect first step to achieving your goals.

If you have goals for the upcoming year, then vision boarding is perfect for you.

Your goals may include:
  • Starting or increasing your savings account
  • Starting to invest
  • Owning real estate
  • Starting a business
  • Going on a dream vacation
  • Finishing a master’s degree
  • Learning a new language
  • Redecorating your house
  • Donating more to charities
  • Volunteering your services
  • Adding to your family

As you can see, goals are things you want to accomplish. The vision board is simply the visual that you place in your home that frequently reminds of you of your plans and objectives for the year.

“The road to success is always under construction.”
                                                                                     -Steve Harvey

Steps to Creating Your Vision Board:
  1. Write down your goals for 2019
  2. Find some magazines that may have pictures of images of the goals you have for 2019
  3. Cut out the images. Remember to be specific and intentional
  4. Get a board that will work best for you. Some use a big white board, and some cut it in half so it more practical. When considering what size board think about where you are going to put it
  5. Where you place it should be somewhere you visit often such as a closet, a home office, kitchen, or next to the bathroom mirror
  6. Arrange the images from the magazine on the white board
  7. Begin to paste of tape the cut-out pictures, representing your goals on the board (I like to add glitter or cute borders to give it a bit of pizazz)

After you’re done putting together your vision board, review it to ensure you have a picture for all of your 2019 goals. Hang the vision board somewhere so it will be a constant visual reminder of what you are set out to accomplish in the next 365 days.

I hope you have created or will create a vision board. Hang it up and start to execute the steps to see your goals manifest.

Let’s rock in 2019!!!

Visualising goals is a good idea. Iwritestuff down all the time and that often feels e ough for me but I can see the value in visualisation that is not just captured inside the mind.

Patrina inspired me to create a vision board with my friends when I got back to school last year. We planned out our goals for the semester and it really helped me keep sight of what I wanted to achieve. Thanks Patrina!
