Growing Your Audience as a Blogger
There are a lot of different ways you can grow your blogging audience. According to Latasha Peterson, a globally recognized Side Hustle and Blog Coach and Expert, growing your audience is a fundamental step towards growing your blog to the lengths of monetization.
She shared with The Money Exchange Podcast a couple of tactics. Here are some of her tips and tricks:
1. Niche Down Your Blog
The first thing you need to consider is your niche. If you want to make money by blogging, you want a topic that people are willing to pay for.
Get clear on what your focus is and who your target audience is. Niching down your blog helps you build your expertise in a particular field and cater to your readers' needs.
2. Create High Quality Content
Although quantity counts in blogging, quality is also vital. Always share valuable and informative content that keeps your readers hooked. Keeping your readers engaged with quality information makes them look forward to new material that you share.
3. Drive Your Engagement
Repurposing your content is a great way to curate valuable pieces of content. There are some many ways you can use the same content over and over again! You can turn your blog content into video content for social media posts on Instagram or Pinterest. You can also use your blog content for podcasts, infographics, images, and slideshows. Ways to Monetize Your Blog
Blogs are amazing ways to earn profit. Here’s how you can earn profit from your blog:
1. Engage in Affiliate Marketing
You can partner with companies and earn commissions when someone purchases something through your recommendation. This can be anything from books, toys, travel packages, or even clothing! It just takes a little research and networking skills to find companies that will pay you to promote their products or services on your blog.
2. Try Out Advertising
You can sell ad space on your site or blog directly or through an intermediary such as Google AdSense. Keep the ads in line with your audience’s interest for instance, if your blog is in the real estate space, look to showcase ads that are related to your content.
This will ensure your content is of top-notch quality and relatable.
3. Engage in Sponsorships
If you have an audience that aligns well with a company's product or mission, there may be opportunities for sponsorships or endorsements. You could get paid to mention them in posts or on social media and attend events in exchange for coverage.
4. Sell digital products
Create digital products like Ebooks, PDFS, workbooks among others with solutions to problems in your niche and sell them to your readers to answer their questions. (You can check out my eBook here!)
5. Create an Online Course
Use content from your blog posts to create your online course. Review your blog analytics and pick up your most popular blog articles as the main content for your course.
Once you are certain of the course structure, convert the blog articles to video and upload them to online course platforms at a particular price. This is a great resource to sell and it’s super easy to create!
6. Offer Coaching or Consulting Services
Showing up consistently in your field will establish you as an expert. This will allow you to share your knowledge with those interested in learning from you via one-on-one coaching sessions or group coaching programs. This is a great way to set up a subscription based service so you can share your knowledge with those interested!
7. Start a Paid Membership
Consider creating an exclusive membership plan for your readers to share your knowledge in your niche outside the general blog posts you share.
With a unique pricing point, you can earn money from paying readers.
8. Sell Physical Products Inspired From Your Content
You can make merchandise like T-shirts, Hoodies, Caps or Journals from your brand as a blogger and sell to your readers via an online shop linked to your blog. This will help you gain monetarily and build a community of readers around your blog.
Blogging can be a fun and rewarding hobby. But it can also be much more than that. You can turn your blog into a true source of income if you learn how to market and monetize your blog properly.
This doesn't happen overnight; it takes passion, dedication, and hard work. However, if you're willing to put in the effort, you should be able to earn some money from blogging in no time at all.
